Last time I mentioned how aggravating it is that medical staff is so overworked that too often patients are left waiting for responses way too long. While there is a lot wrong with our health care, there are many nurses, doctors, and schedulers that have gone out of their way to help with a compassionate heart. The nurse that gave me my first Gold shot when I was 6 and confused also taught me how to give myself my own Enbrel injections and always asked about my family. She came to my wedding and we’re still in touch today. I love her. I love a lot of the medical folks that have tried to make dealing with chronic conditions a less bad. If you have to have nurses on speed dial, they probably care about you more than you know. Let the good ones know they’re good and what it means to you.
