Mother’s Day Poem 2018
Patty-cake, patty-cake just you and me
I remember how to mark it with a B
You tied my shoes until I could
If i forgot i knew you would
Patiently teaching me
Always close, i could see
It was tough as I grew
Challenging the things you knew
My heart got broken, crushed, and tossed
You dried my tears and promised he was the one that had lost
As a young adult the real world was rough
But you had my back and got me through the stuff
Self respect and value was something I could see
As something you exude, that I wanted as well for me.
I hope I’ve made you proud if only when I say,
Thank you mom for everything, happy Mother’s Day! ~trvw
