The Chronic Complainer

Dealing with a chronic autoimmune condition often means moving through life with the best intentions of realistic positive intent. Understanding that the main feature of our life’s focus doesn’t have to be our chronic conditions, so they can sit in the backseat sometimes.  When someone else doesn’t  practice this method and they are a chronic complainer, it can be unnerving. It can be hard to ignore and a voice inside is screaming, “I DEAL WITH WORSE THINGS, GET OVER IT!” It’s not right but the thoughts arise and it can be hard to understand why we are lacking the very compassion that we know this person needs more than anyone. I think one reason is that if we are able to muster up enough energy operate without constantly complaining then people will never understand our hidden pain. Then, if we do have a hard day and it shows then there might be backlash or lack of empathy. It can be tempting to chime in and voice our ailments and woes in an effort to be seen but will you see yourself in the right light? If your tribe needs to hear vocal complaining to be empathic then the problem is the tribe, not your chronic condition or the stellar way you handle your chronic condition.
